Hey there, I'm Jacob!
I love love.
Ever since a friend asked me to photograph her wedding, I was hooked. Wedding photography has become my greatest passion and I fell in love with all of it: all the nervous excitement, joyous screams, quiet moments, and heartfelt tears. The day is full of so much raw human connection and I am constantly looking for the moments that reveal true love. My goal is to capture moments that truly mean something for my couples.
Wedding Philosophy
Your wedding is a wedding, not a photoshoot. I want to treat it as such. We do not need to take photos for hours to create something beautiful. I’d rather you enjoy your day and I document that. Your photos should feel real, not staged or forced. My goal is to document the day as it naturally unfolds, so when you look back at your photos, you’re transported right back to those moments and exact feelings.

It’s in my blood
Ever since I was a kid, I was fascinated by capturing a moment in time. I loved how one image could hold so much meaning. It could make you laugh or make you cry. It could make you remember a moment forgotten or make you think differently. I used to steal my mom’s camera just to take photos and videos of anything. That passion never left me.

Beyond the camera
These days you’ll often find me out on a run in Amherstburg. I’ve been training for my first marathon. Running pushes me beyond what I ever thought possible, and that push transfers over to every part of my life.
I love to travel. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to many countries but my favourites are the places less traveled. I’ve hitchhiked across Montenegro, went a week without a phone in Guatemala, rode motorbikes through northern Vietnam, and explored abandoned military bases from the Soviet Union. Each trip has given me new perspectives on life, taught me more about both the world and myself and given me a greater gratitude for what I have.
I enjoy the simple pleasures too: a morning latte, a glass of wine while cooking, sunsets, campfires, and any excuse to be outdoors with good company. I’ll longboard, rock climb, or go canoeing when the weather’s right. I’m also learning Spanish and am always listening to a book or a podcast.
I love to laugh and yes, I cry too. Whether it’s moved by a wedding, a film, or a cherished memory.
