That’s where a Story Session comes in. It’s an optional pre-wedding session designed to add meaning and personality to your wedding video by capturing moments that reflect your life together.

When I filmed Todd and Shannon’s wedding at Wedding in the Woods, we didn’t just focus on the wedding ceremony. We told their story. We went back to the bar where they had their first date. They read letters to each other at the same table where it all started. Later, I joined them on a camping trip, setting up their trailer, paddling across the lake, and sitting by the fire, just being themselves.

These moments added emotional depth to their final wedding film, giving it context beyond just the wedding day itself.

What is a Story Session?

A Story Session is a short, cinematic shoot we do together before your wedding day. Think of it like engagement photos—but for video. You choose an activity or location that feels true to you, and we film it with intention to weave it into your final wedding video.
Some ideas include:
Cooking together at home
Revisiting the place where you first met
A quiet moment in your favourite park or trail in Windsor Essex
Doing something adventurous you both love
The result? A wedding video that feels deeply personal and shows who you are as a couple.
